Summary

The Human Resources Manager at Bluum oversees comprehensive HR programs including employee relations, compensation, benefits, payroll, and compliance while fostering a high-performing workplace culture in Irving, Texas. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure legal compliance, workplace safety, and organizational alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities: Administers HR policies, manages employee relations and onboarding/offboarding, conducts investigations, and maintains compliance with employment laws. Oversees compensation and benefits administration, payroll support, health and safety initiatives, training and development programs, and manages HRIS records in UKG.
Skills & Tools: Requires knowledge of labor law, HRIS systems (UKG/Ultipro), payroll practices, and proficiency in HR metrics analysis and reporting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with ability to conduct investigations and drive employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications: BS/BA degree from an accredited institution and minimum 5 years of HR experience in a production/warehouse environment required. At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required, with SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and administering a wide range of HR programs and initiatives, including employee relations, health and safety, training and development, compensation and benefits, payroll, and compliance. This role partners closely with leadership, employees, and the broader HR team to foster a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture. The HR Manager ensures that policies, procedures, and practices are aligned with organizational goals while meeting legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Administration

  • Administer HR plans, policies, and procedures for all personnel; assist in developing and implementing policies.
  • Recommend and execute employee engagement initiatives to drive a culture of excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct investigations, maintain records, and resolve employee complaints/issues.
  • Develop, analyze, and report on HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including employment verifications.
  • Support regional recruitment efforts as needed.
  • Provide backup and support to the national HR team.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

  • Administer compensation programs and monitor performance evaluation processes.
  • Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, invoice approvals, and employee communication.
  • Manage payroll inquiries, audit payroll, and provide backup support to the Payroll Manager.
  • Maintain HRIS records in UKG (Ultipro) and generate reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify cost savings or enhancements to the benefits program.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safe and healthy workplace; lead initiatives to build a “safety first” culture.
  • Proactively perform risk assessments for new positions or workflow changes.
  • Manage occupational injury/illness claims, Workers’ Compensation, WSIB, and related reporting.
  • Conduct EHS assessments and ensure compliance with OHSA, EPA, and applicable corporate policies.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and logs to meet regulatory standards.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage; ensure corrective actions and documentation.

Training & Development

  • Drive the creation, implementation, and execution of training and development programs to support succession planning.
  • Manage onboarding and ongoing training activities for employees and managers.
  • Train managers to coach and discipline employees; support new leaders in developing management skills.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise employee performance through effective development strategies.

Other

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Other duties as required.

Education & Skill Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a production/warehouse environment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law (Texas experience a strong asset).
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP/SCP) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (UKG/Ultipro preferred).
  • Knowledge of payroll practices and employment law in applicable country.
  • Strong background in employee relations, compliance, and health and safety.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
