Job Description
At E Source, we help utilities make sense of complexity in a rapidly changing landscape, and we’re looking for a Manager, Learning & Development to help shape how that impact shows up in the world.
E Source is a research, data/analytics, and technology focused professional services firm focused exclusively on the Utility industry in North America. We help utilities target and serve their customers more effectively, enhance and optimize their grid, and leverage operating best practices and technologies to manage their business more effectively. As the Manager, Learning & Development, you’ll lead E Source’s learning and development function — from leadership development and skills-based learning to onboarding, performance enablement, and engagement. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll partner with senior leaders across the business to diagnose learning needs, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable outcomes that support our growth and culture. You’ll also provide strategic oversight of employee engagement and serve as a collaborative partner and backup resource for broader HR initiatives during critical business periods.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of strategy and hands-on delivery, brings strong judgment to complex organizational problems, and wants to build the capability that shapes how a growing company learns and leads.
In this role, you will:
• Own and drive E Source’s L&D strategy, ensuring learning investments align with business priorities and measurable outcomes
• Design and implement a multi-year L&D roadmap that addresses organizational capability gaps and supports strategic goals
• Partner with senior leaders and department heads to conduct learning needs assessments and translate findings into targeted development solutions
• Build and maintain a scalable learning architecture across instructor-led, virtual, self-directed, and blended modalities
• Establish L&D metrics and KPIs, and evaluate program effectiveness through assessment data, learner feedback, and business impact
• Manage the L&D budget, vendor relationships, and learning technology platforms, including the learning management system (LMS)
• Lead the design and delivery of leadership development programs for new, emerging, and senior leaders
• Facilitate high-impact workshops, cohort programs, and experiential learning opportunities for people managers
• Build and oversee a structured mentoring program, including matching, logistics, and effectiveness tracking
• Integrate Prosci change management and project management frameworks into leadership and team development offerings
• Own the end-to-end new employee experience from offer acceptance through full assimilation, including 30-day and 90-day follow-up
• Lead the employee engagement survey process end-to-end, from vendor management and question design to launch, analysis, and action planning
• Build and develop the E Source Values Champions network, and grow employee resource and affinity groups using Viva Engage and other platforms
• Serve as a senior thought partner to HR leadership on people strategy, culture, and organizational development
• Provide senior-level backup facilitation for HR 101 and other People & Culture programs, and cover HR generalist functions during peak periods, planned absences, or unexpected coverage needs
You’re likely a great fit if you:
• Bring both strategic vision and hands-on delivery to L&D work
• Diagnose organizational capability needs and translate them into measurable programs
• Facilitate confidently for audiences ranging from new hires to senior leaders
• Use data to evaluate program impact and drive continuous improvement
• Care about culture, engagement, and the employee experience as much as content
• Stay current with L&D trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and bring innovative thinking to how E Source builds capability
And even better if you:
• Have experience working with or around utilities, energy, consulting, research, or adjacent fields
• Hold Prosci change management certification or a similar credential
• Have built or scaled an L&D function inside a growing professional services firm
Experience and Skills to Qualify Include:
• 7+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, or a related HR discipline
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, education, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide L&D strategies and programs
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with comfort leading sessions for all levels of the organization, including senior leaders
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS), learning design tools, and engagement survey platforms
• Proven ability to measure and communicate the business impact of learning programs
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
At E Source, you’ll work alongside people who are thoughtful, curious, and deeply knowledgeable about utility and energy systems. We value clarity over jargon, substance over flash, and collaboration over ego. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills, contribute to meaningful work, and help shape a company that plays a real role in how the energy future unfolds.
What you can expect
• Excellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans, and paid parental leave.
• A flexible time off (FTO) policy that provides paid time away from work, approved by your manager, while ensuring business needs, workload commitments, and appropriate coverage are maintained.
• A 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match.
The budgeted salary for this position is $112,000 - $117,000 USD + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
