About the Role

Compensation: $65,000 to $85,000 per year

CodePath is at an inflection point as we launch our 5-year strategic plan to scale our organization in its next phase of exponential growth in order to increase our impact from 10,000 students to 100,000 students served annually. Charlotte is a pivotal city for expansion, representing a significant opportunity to extend our impact in the region. This next growth phase will fuel a sustainable regional ecosystem, drawing in employers, students, university partners, and funders to establish a regional flywheel effect.

To accomplish this, we are hiring a Senior Community Engagement Coordinator (SCEC) in Charlotte to join our growing team. In this role, the SCEC will focus on driving student enrollment, engagement, and long-term involvement in CodePath’s E3 Program—a unique blend of technical coursework, collaborative learning, and career development support. You will play a pivotal part in leading all community engagement efforts, including student outreach, marketing, communications, and event planning, to foster a dynamic and supportive student ecosystem. 

As a core member of the CodePath E3 Program launch team in Charlotte, this is a unique opportunity to create a vibrant, engaged, and thriving community of CodePath E3 Scholars. The SCEC will collaborate closely with university stakeholders, student leaders, and industry partners to build awareness, increase student participation, and ensure the success of CodePath programs in the Charlotte area.

Key Activities 

Community Engagement & Program Promotion

  • Implement and oversee strategies to raise awareness and recruit students into CodePath’s E3 Program, Connected Classrooms, and for-credit courses in the Charlotte area
  • Build relationships with university departments, student organizations, non-profits, and other key influencers to drive program awareness and recruit students
  • Coordinate information sessions, workshops, and presentations to share program details with students, promoting the benefits and opportunities of joining CodePath

Fostering Student Community

  • Work closely with CodePath E3 Program Pod Leaders to support weekly study sessions and facilitate community-building activities
  • Oversee and actively manage the CodePath Charlotte (CLT) Discord community, ensuring it remains a vibrant and interactive space for students
  • Develop and distribute bi-weekly newsletters via our CRM to keep students informed and engaged with the program and events
  • Monitor and identify at-risk students, provide tailored support, and facilitate small-group check-ins to ensure retention and student success

Industry & Corporate Engagement

  • Cultivate partnerships with corporate sponsors and industry leaders, facilitating site visits, "Ask the Expert" sessions, mentorship programs, and other career development activities
  • Collaborate with career centers to offer mock interviews, resume workshops, and internship placement support for students

Event Planning & Execution

  • Organize and execute networking events, study sessions, career workshops, and other professional development activities for CodePath E3 Scholars
  • Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including logistics, RSVPs, marketing, and post-event follow-up to ensure strong attendance and participant engagement. Collect student feedback on events and use it to continuously improve future activities

Key Success Metrics

  • Drive measurable outcomes, including a 50% increase in student awareness and a 30% increase in program participation within the first year
  • Demonstrate a sustained 30% increase in active student engagement and participation in CodePath courses and events
  • Develop a sustainable community with a 90% retention rate, where CodePath students actively participate and engage in CodePath initiatives
  • Strengthen partnerships with corporate or community partners to support CodePath’s mission in Charlotte

Qualifications

  • Track record in student recruitment, community engagement, or a related field
  • Ability to identify challenges in student engagement and retention and develop proactive solutions to address them
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage key stakeholders 
  • Familiarity with productivity and communication tools such as Hubspot, Airtable, Google Docs, or Discord
  • This is a remote position; however, residing in Charlotte, NC is required, as the role involves regular visits to local universities and engagement with students in the area

Compensation

CodePath has standardized salaries based on the position’s level, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring for a Senior Coordinator level position at an annual salary of $65,000 to $85,000. Salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as evaluated through our interview process.
