About the Role

The Technical Training Specialist will bridge the gap between complex technical operations and employee competency. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for our field technicians and internal staff across North America. This role is pivotal in ensuring our workforce is safe, compliant, and proficient in the latest equipment technologies and organizational systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Produces high-quality instructional videos, managing all stages of filming, lighting, audio capture, and post-production editing. Develops digital assets for training modules, including motion graphics, screen captures, and visual demonstrations while maintaining consistent branding and instructional clarity.
  • Builds, structures, and publishes interactive training modules within the Service-Learning Management System (LMS). Converts instructor-led content into digital formats such as quizzes and step-through guides, optimizing layouts for accessibility and troubleshooting content issues.
  • Modifies and annotates CAD files to create simplified or exploded-view diagrams and digital simulations for training. Translates complex mechanical or electrical assemblies into learner-friendly visual assets, collaborating with engineering to ensure accuracy and version control.
  • Identifies technical training gaps within the service organization and conducts training programs related to machinery and computer systems. Documents training effectiveness and makes data-driven changes to the curriculum as needed.
  • Partners with instructors, SMEs, and engineering staff to convert complex technical concepts into clear digital learning materials. Maintains organized digital asset libraries and assists in planning media for new certification pathways.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to service trainees and subordinate groups, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and technical mastery.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, engineering, instructional design, or other related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in technical training, media production, or instructional design, specifically within a field service or equipment environment.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid working knowledge of video production tools, LMS platforms, and a strong proficiency in manipulating CAD files for technical visualization.
  • Ability to perform work under general supervision, handling moderately complex issues independently and referring more complex problems to higher-level staff.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex engineering data and mechanical assemblies into clear, documented, and visually engaging instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods in industrial environments, including navigating shop floors, service bays, and uneven terrain at various North American sites.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of training equipment or machinery parts, with the dexterity required to operate professional camera gear and demonstrate technical tool usage.
  • Willingness and physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently to film technical demonstrations or provide "hands-on" instruction on complex equipment.
