About School Family Media & PTO Today

For over 25 years, School Family Media (SFM) has helped schools, parents, and volunteers ensure students are prepared to learn and schools thrive. Through our trusted platforms — PTO Today, TeacherLists, and EduKit — we connect parent groups, educators, and districts with the tools, resources, and partnerships they need to succeed.

PTO Today is the leading source of expert advice, ideas, and products for school PTO and PTA leaders. Our nationwide network of parent groups build strong school communities through fundraising, family events, and teacher support.

This is a mission-driven sales and relationship management role: you’ll educate leaders about the importance of insurance coverage, manage a portfolio of members, and build trusted partnerships that drive both growth and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Growth & Retention
  • Achieve annual sales and renewal targets by building trusted relationships with new and existing PTO/PTA groups and districts.
  • Prospect & Engage
  • Reach out to school parent groups and district leaders to promote PTO Today’s insurance membership offerings.
  • Educate & Advocate
  • Clearly explain the value of insurance coverage, answer questions, and lead awareness sessions one-on-one, in small groups, or at events such as PTO Today Live Expos.
  • Relationship Management
  • Develop long-term connections with parent leaders and district stakeholders to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  • Lifecycle & Data Management
  • Accurately manage membership data in CRM (HubSpot experience preferred), track the customer journey, and ensure smooth handoffs between sales, support, and renewal.
  • Metrics & Insights
  • Monitor and report on outreach, engagement, and retention metrics; identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Renewal Strategies
  • Implement proactive renewal initiatives to maintain high retention rates and positive customer experiences.
  • Team Collaboration and Support
  • Support the broader Leader Support team by serving as additional support capacity to help customers/leaders with their questions and by doing so helping the leaders support team meet its goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven sales and/or customer service experience; K-12 education or parent group experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and translate insights into action.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Willingness to travel 2–6 times per year for PTO Today Expos (overnight travel required).
  • Fluent in English.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary + performance incentives
  • Flexible schedule and remote work
  • Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Paid time off, holidays, and office closure between Christmas and New Year’s
  • Company-sponsored Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Mission-driven work that directly impacts schools, families, and communities

Resumes will be accepted until Friday, October 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM (EDT).

Eligibility

This is a U.S.–based remote role. To be considered, candidates must currently live in the United States and be authorized to work here. At this time, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship. These requirements are in place to meet payroll and compliance regulations.
