Summary

Lead ACAMS's organic social media presence and digital storytelling strategy, translating thought leadership and anti-financial crime expertise into compelling content for a global audience across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day social media operations across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook; develop content strategy, editorial calendars, and campaigns. Skills & Tools: Expert-level social media management and digital content creation with strong editorial judgment and writing ability to distill complex regulatory topics. Proficiency with social analytics platforms (Sprout, Canva, Microsoft tools) and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in social media, digital content, editorial, or brand storytelling, preferably in financial services or regulated industries with knowledge of anti-money laundering, fraud, fintech, or sanctions.
Location: 1030 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005 (Hybrid; DC area candidates strongly preferred)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $95,000 – $130,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Opportunity at a Glance
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media and Digital Storytelling Lead to own and execute ACAMS’s organic social media presence and translate our thought leadership, research, and expertise into compelling digital content for a global audience.
This role is ideal for a creative, organized, savvy digital native comfortable crafting and publishing content and who understands how to bring complex regulatory and industry topics to life on social channels. You will play a key role in shaping how ACAMS shows up day-to-day in the market – turning insights on anti-financial crime (AFC) into engaging, relevant and timely content that builds credibility, engages our community, and reinforces ACAMS’s leadership position.
In this role, you are a hands-on content lead with strong editorial judgement, comfortable working closely with subject-matter experts (SME) and cross-functional partners to craft high-impact digital storytelling. This role, who directly reports to the Senior Director of Brand & Communications, is ideal for someone who meets the necessary qualifications and enjoys actively creating and writing.

Responsibilities
Social Media Management:

Lead day-to-day management of ACAMS’s social media channels (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook).
Own social content strategy, editorial calendar, posting cadence, experimentation and optimization.
Write, edit, review and publish social content that reflects ACAMS’ brand voice and editorial standards.
Build and support campaigns that amplify priority initiatives, thought leadership, and key moments across the year.
Monitor online conversations and industry trends to inform content strategy and engagement opportunities.

Thought Leadership & Digital Storytelling:

Translate ACAMS thought leadership, research, events, news, and expert insights into engaging digital and social content.
Repurpose long-form content (reports, blogs, events) into high-performing digital content and campaigns.
Partner closely with Events & Product Marketing, Thought Leadership, Editorial (MoneyLaundering.com and ACAMS Today), and Product teams to surface timely, relevant content opportunities and ensure accuracy for a SME audience.

Content Production & Editorial Quality:

Brief, edit, and produce written, visual, and short-form video content, working with internal teams as needed.
Maintain quality control and brand consistency (voice, tone, identity) across all outputs.
Ensure consistency with communications and business priorities.

Website Support:

Build and oversee marketing landing pages, with input from marketing stakeholders, to optimize for impact and brand alignment

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in social media, digital content, editorial or brand storytelling
Experience working in financial services, professional services or other complex/regulated industries
Strong familiarity with AFC, anti-money laundering (AML), fraud, fintech and/or sanctions preferred.
Strong editorial judgement and excellent writing skills; ability to distill complex ideas into clear, engaging content.
Comfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Familiarity with native social analytics and tools such as Sprout, Canva, Microsoft tools.
This role is hybrid, with in-office days. Candidates based in DC area are strongly preferred.
