Job Description
With more than 30 years in business, Mindex is a software product and professional services company with a proven history of delivering impactful solutions. We specialize in agile software development, cloud and data services, and the creation of innovative, homegrown products.
Our teams have built platforms such as SchoolTool, Advanced Analytics, and our Integrations Platform from the ground up—giving us real‑world experience designing, scaling, and supporting modern software systems.
We’re proud to be recognized as the #1 Software Developer in the 2025 RBJ Book of Lists and ranked #80 in the Rochester Chamber Top 100 Companies. As our client base and #ROCstar team continue to grow, we’re expanding our sales organization and looking for motivated professionals ready to make an impact.
At Mindex, Agile Coaches help teams improve delivery in practical, sustainable ways. This is a hands-on coaching role for someone who leads with listening, curiosity, humility, and relationship-building, and who works alongside teams to strengthen execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Rather than enforcing a fixed Agile model, you will help teams build ways of working that fit their goals, constraints, and operating environment. You will support a small set of related teams as needs evolve, partnering with client stakeholders and internal coaching leaders to create clarity, improve flow, and help teams take greater ownership of their outcomes.
This role requires someone who can build trust before driving change, understand the broader system teams are operating within, and help teams navigate real-world constraints in a thoughtful, collaborative way.
*Candidates should be based in or near Rochester, NY and able to commute as needed
What You’ll Do
- Coach teams, managers, and delivery leaders using a practical, collaborative approach that improves transparency, flow, and continuous learning.
- Assess team health, delivery flow, system constraints, and ways of working, then co-design improvements that reflect real business needs, team context, and the broader operating environment.
- Facilitate planning, feedback, and flow-management cadences in ways that are useful and sustainable, adapting structure and frequency to what the team actually needs.
- Step into hands-on facilitation, execution support, and workflow problem-solving when teams need practical help, especially in fast-paced or interrupt-driven environments.
- Partner with client stakeholders and internal coaching leaders to align on team-level improvements, remove impediments, strengthen execution, and build trusted relationships across teams and leadership groups.
- Use delivery metrics, data, and visual reporting when appropriate to improve visibility, support decision-making, and help teams learn over time.
- 3+ years of experience in agile coaching or closely related roles such as Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or Delivery Lead.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and multiple delivery approaches, with the judgment to adapt practices to context rather than apply frameworks rigidly.
- Proven experience helping teams and leaders improve execution, team effectiveness, and sustainable delivery outcomes.
- Strong systems thinking, with the ability to understand team dynamics, organizational constraints, dependencies, and process friction that impact delivery.
- Excellent relationship-building, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, listen first, and influence through collaboration rather than authority.
- Ability to work flexibly across teams and priorities based on where coaching support can create the most value.
- Experience using delivery metrics and visualizations to support learning and decision-making is a plus.
- Agile certifications are a plus, but practical coaching experience and sound judgment matter most.
- Experience in enterprise software development environments is preferred.
