WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Per Scholas is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Director of Management to provide curriculum and product leadership within the Product Services department. In this role, you will translate labor market intelligence, employer demand, funder and client requirements, and instructional research into high-quality, scalable curricula that drive learner outcomes, credential attainment, and job placement—while enabling sustainable revenue through internal programs and external partnerships.

You will set a clear instructional vision, ensuring curriculum alignment to industry standards, certifications, accessibility requirements, and employer expectations, while leading continuous improvement across the curriculum lifecycle—from opportunity discovery and design through launch, adoption, and scale. You bring expertise in turning complex workforce challenges into coherent, learner-centered curriculum roadmaps, and in representing curriculum strategy with credibility in executive- and partner-facing settings.

You will lead a team of Product Managers as curriculum product owners, establishing clear measures of instructional effectiveness, supporting professional growth in curriculum design and product thinking, and promoting data-informed instructional innovation in close partnership with Product Operations, Evaluation, and Delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Roadmap Ownership & Strategic Alignment

  • Own and maintain the multi-year curriculum product roadmap, with clear prioritization criteria, explicit tradeoffs, and documented decisions across market-driven, customized, and alumni offerings.
  • Establish and maintain a disciplined "Operating Rhythm," including rigorous execution planning, milestone tracking, and monthly portfolio reviews.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle management process, from initial opportunity evaluation to implementation, adoption, and strategic sunsetting.

People Leadership & Product Management

  • Provide direct supervision and professional development for the Product Managers team, ensuring high-quality instructional output across all technical tracks.
  • Serve as the primary intake and prioritization lead for new product requests, optimizing departmental capacity and protecting the team from scope creep.
  • Champion a culture of "Learning through Curiosity," empowering Product Managers to innovate within the parameters of validated industry data.

Stakeholder Advisory & Business Integration

  • Partner closely with Training Delivery, Instructor Development, and Product Delivery to ensure curriculum roadmap commitments align with instructor readiness, scheduling realities, and change-absorption capacity.
  • Act as a lead consultant for internal and external stakeholders—including donors, executive leadership, and employer partners—to translate complex organizational requirements into actionable learning objectives.
  • Navigate enterprise-level technology challenges to ensure seamless integration between product offerings and our internal infrastructure (LMS, CRM, and Cloud platforms).
  • Collaborate with Product Delivery and Evaluation teams to ensure all training products meet an 80% job attainment target for our graduates.

Operational Excellence

  • Own, define, and actively track curriculum product KPIs, using them to drive roadmap decisions, tradeoffs, and accountability.
  • Design and implement Quality Assurance (QA) frameworks to drive a 10-15% reduction in curriculum development cycles.
  • Utilize advanced workforce planning models to optimize resource allocation, capacity management, and departmental throughput.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:

Professional Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience leading complex content, curriculum, or program portfolios, with clear ownership of prioritization, tradeoffs, and lifecycle decisions across multiple stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of experience translating market, employer, and learner needs into scalable offerings, including evaluating when to build, adapt, reuse, or sunset curriculum or content.
  • Product Management Mastery: Demonstrated success in Software Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and taking products from concept to national-scale delivery.
  • Instructional Design Fluency: Deep understanding of the ADDIE/SAM models and competency-based educational frameworks.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex roadmaps and KPIs into clear, persuasive briefings for senior leadership.
  • Market Intelligence: Skilled in leveraging labor market analytics to validate product hypotheses and investment theses.
  • Systems Design: Ability to re-engineer cross-functional processes to enhance organizational efficiency and scalability.
  • Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree in Computer Science, Education, or Instructional Design is a significant advantage.

Bonus Skills

  • Professional experience within the Education or Workforce Development sectors.
  • Hands-on experience with LMS integrations and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Experience in instructional facilitation or technical training delivery.

Personal Characteristics

  • Strategic DNA: You are results-oriented, innovative, and analytical with a natural drive for change and improvement.
  • Proactive Communicator: You value "Bottom Line Up Front" communication and enjoy collaborating with entrepreneurial-minded stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Leader: You thrive in team-based environments with rapid feedback loops and are committed to fostering psychological safety.
  • Independent Operator: You are comfortable working with executives and can make confident, data-driven decisions independently.
  • Straight Shooter: You provide direct, specific, and timely feedback and value the same in return.

Compensation:

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $100,000-$110,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
