Summary

Amplify seeks a Spanish Language Arts Content and Instructional Specialist to develop and review standards-aligned K-12 curricular materials for diverse learners. This contract role involves creating engaging lessons that build literacy skills across Spanish and dual-language classrooms.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and review standards-aligned Spanish instruction, source engaging texts, revise lessons to support diverse learners, and collaborate with designers and content producers to create and refine curriculum materials.
Skills & Tools: Native or native-level Spanish proficiency (communication and academic), strong content knowledge in Spanish linguistics (grammar, phonology, semantics, morphology, syntax), and proven ability to craft standards-based lessons while meeting deadlines on multiple projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of Spanish or bilingual elementary education experience in developing standards-based curricula and educational publishing. Preferred candidates hold a graduate degree and have experience integrating multiple genres, technologies, and media into curriculum.

Job Description Summary:

Amplify is seeking a Spanish Language Arts (SLA) Content and Instructional Specialist to help develop and review core curricular materials. Our small, highly collaborative team develops lessons that bring rich, standards-aligned domains of knowledge into SLA and dual-language classrooms, using those domains to engage students, build literacy skills, and develop those skills into close, careful reading, writing, speaking, and listening for diverse audiences and purposes, and pursuing a deep curiosity about the world. To do this, we need people who ‘get’ both text and students, who are ready to think creatively about critical literacy skills, who possess a deep understanding of standards-aligned instruction, and who have an impeccable eye for detail. 

*This is a contract role expected to end 3/31/26.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review instruction in Spanish that authentically aligns to standards and progresses in substantial, organic ways 
  • Revise instruction to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners 
  • Source rich and engaging texts in Spanish for content development 
  • Revise lessons in Spanish that support students at all levels, helping them become strong readers who can dig into a text, deliberately investigate key elements, collaborate to refine their understanding, and express that understanding through presentations, performances, writing, or other means
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and other content producers to bring lessons to life

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years spanish or bilingual elementary education experience in developing and implementing a wide range of engagement and grouping strategies or similar role with a bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience crafting challenging and engaging standards-based lessons/curricula in Spanish
  • Experience crafting standards correlations and other technical documents 
  • Proven experience in educational publishing
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and balance work on multiple projects
  • Native or native-level proficiency in Spanish (in both communication and academic proficiency)
  • Strong content background in Spanish linguistics, including grammar, phonology, semantics, morphology, and syntax 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in related field
  • Experience crafting curriculum in Spanish that integrates different genres, technologies, and media 
  • Experience instructing a diverse range of Spanish learners 
  • Widely read, with strong reading and thinking skills 
  • Experience working collaboratively 
  • Acute attention to detail 
  • Comfort with classroom technology

Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this role is $40 - $45.
