Summary

Qualifications: 3+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in children's book publishing or related industry; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Job Description

Macmillan is seeking a highly motivated and organized National Account Manager to manage the sales relationship for Children’s and Teen sales to the Amazon and Amazon Canada accounts, driving sales growth, brand awareness, and product visibility at this key account. This role requires interest in the children’s and teen book retail landscape, proven sales skills, and strong analytical abilities. The ideal candidate will have sales experience in book publishing and an excitement for reading.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Amazon’s children’s and teen sales
  • Planning and facilitating Kindle and Print books strategy and promotion deals.
  • Develop and execute tailored account plans to drive growth and achieve sales objectives including building seasonal presentations and monthly pitches for Amazon's editorial teams.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and editorial teams to design and implement promotions, and seasonal programs.
  • Work closely with the demand planning team to forecast product demand and manage inventory flow.
  • Monitor sales trends, stock levels, and reorder points to maximize availability and minimize stock-outs or overstock situations.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive titles, and emerging authors to inform account strategy.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on market shifts and customer preferences.
  • Analyze POS data, sales trends, and market insights to optimize assortment, promotions, and placement strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting on account performance, key metrics, and competitive positioning to management.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in children’s book publishing or a related industry.
  • Strong data analysis expertise, and proficiency with sales tracking and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; able to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Prior knowledge of Amazon account a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

This role will have an annual salary of $75,000-$85,000.
