Job Description
Product Manager, Display Solutions
SMART Technologies is looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our Interactive Displays portfolio team. This is a high-impact role that spans the full product stack, from display hardware and core component selection to the embedded software experiences that bring our products to life. SMART's interactive displays are used in millions of classrooms and meeting spaces globally, and the portfolio sits at the heart of that. You'll work with a talented and collaborative team, have real ownership, and help define what comes next for SMART's product lines.
Reporting to the Manager, Product Management, you'll bring strong knowledge of embedded systems, hardware products, and complementary software experiences to a role with depth, variety, and tangible impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a product owner, you will lead strategy, planning, and delivery across a cross-functional team to build alignment and drive the success of SMART's interactive display products, accessories, and complementary software solutions.
Analyze and help prioritize new hardware and software investment opportunities across the full product portfolio to inform the overall roadmap.
Develop business cases and pricing models for new products, features, and opportunities that improve profitability.
Define product requirements, evaluate new product ideas and product enhancements, and ensure alignment with SMART's goals and mission.
Represent the voice of the customer through research, market data, and direct engagement, and use those insights to drive product prioritization and planning throughout the development process.
Be a student of the industry and related technology. Monitor emerging technologies and consumer electronics trends and assess their potential to enhance SMART's product roadmap with intelligent, delightful experiences.
Collaborate with internal and external hardware and software engineering and management teams as a key contributor to technical decisions and project governance.
Align product leadership to the technical direction and strategy and execution plans for the program. Lead cross-organizational discussions as needed for technical alignment.
Own and deliver regular communication on product performance, including wins, challenges, and roadmap updates based on a deep understanding of customer needs, product profitability, market trends, and channel dynamics.
Leverage product analytics tools to track key usage metrics, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable product improvements across the Interactive Displays portfolio.
Collaborate closely with UX, HW/SW engineering, and other product managers throughout the development process to drive product decisions and deliver embedded experiences that meet market requirements.
Ability to motivate and inspire others to collaborate effectively. Drive alignment and buy-in across engineering, UX, marketing, and other teams without direct authority, rallying stakeholders around a shared product vision.
Own product positioning and go-to-market strategies for each solution, partnering with product marketing to craft narratives and collateral that resonate with target markets.
Apply knowledge of the competitive landscape to strengthen SMART's product portfolio.
Manage product lifecycle decisions, including end-of-life planning for existing products.
Contribute to a team culture that's collaborative, high-performing, and enjoyable to be part of.
