Major Responsibilities Coordination and completion of the Risk and Control Matrix and control implementation across key business processes and IT applications Initial review of control and gap remediation recommendations for two Senior Internal Auditors Transition and training of audit staff on completion and ownership of remediation tracker. Once training is completed oversight and supervision of both processes Assist in development and rollout of Finance Leadership Graduate Program Other responsibilities, special projects i.e., investigations or ERM for example, as required or requested Minimum Education or Certifications Required Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, MIS, or other related area. CPA, CIA, CFE, CRMA, CISA, CGMA, or CMA, etc. or similar designation required. Minimum Experience or Skills Required At least 5+ years of work experience in Internal or External Audit or data analytic required. At least 7+ years of experience supervising people or managing projects. Commercial acumen: · Awareness of the risks and the controls framework, proactively working on minimizing the risk and ensuring compliance with First Student policy, legal and regulatory requirements. Communications and Influence skills: · Ability to persuade others using straightforward and simple techniques (e.g. appeals to reason, data, etc). · Must have the ability to communicate IT technical issues in generic terms so that non-IT audience can understand the significance of the subject matter being discusses (e.g., clearly indicate risks of a control weakness) · Clearly explain own position when challenged. · Risk and control framework and standards Legal and Regulatory Requirements: Team Leadership: · A team player that demonstrates a positive “can do” attitude. · Adopts a consistent and positive approach in times of stress. Internal Control & Internal Audit: · Ability to apply a control framework to ensure the integrity of audit practices. · Can examine, analyze and provide an independent and objective opinion on the effectiveness of an organization's operations and processes. External and management reporting and ad-hoc communication: · Ability to assist Senior Manager in preparing management reports and balancing ad-hoc information requests. Potential travel up to 5% across North America.
