Summary

Compensation: $52.33 – $60.18+/hour (Zone 1-4 tiered rates based on geographic location)

WHAT IS THE JOB?

The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing multiple medium-to-large-scale strategic projects throughout all phases of the project life cycle. Working within the AVID Project Management Office (PMO), this position directly manages key strategic initiatives while also providing consultative support to meet the organization’s broader project management needs. The Project Manager partners closely with departments and leadership across the organization to understand each project’s strategic vision, ensure thoughtful planning and execution, and deliver outcomes that meet—or ideally exceed—stakeholders’ expectations.

This is a temporary position to cover a leave of absence, beginning immediately with an expected end date of June 2026.

Pay rates for this position:

We bring in all employees above the midpoint of the salary range for your role. Knowing that not all cities share the same cost of labor, we make offers using a tiered approach based on your geographical location. While the majority reside in Zone 1 or Zone 2 areas, we acknowledge variations, even within counties, ensuring fair compensation for all based on their specific location's cost of labor.

For the Temporary Project Manager position, here is what we will offer:

Zone 1 (areas characterized by lower labor costs [e.g., Charleston, WV, Cleveland, OH, Phoenix, AZ, Omaha, NE, etc.]): $52.33 / hour

Zone 2 (areas with moderate labor costs [e.g., Syracuse, NY, Ann Arbor, MI, Denver, CO, San Diego, CA, etc.]): $56.25 / hour

Zone 3 (areas known for high labor costs [e.g., Washington, D.C., Trenton, NJ, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, etc.]): $60.18 / hour

Zone 4 (areas with the highest labor costs [e.g., Bridgeport, CT, New York City, NY, San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, etc.]): $66.72 / hour

  • You are a leader and coach with proven experience successfully leading cross-functional teams through all stages of technical projects while modeling best project management practices, processes, standards, tools, and techniques.
  • You can navigate complex, high-level initiatives and distill complicated ideas into clear, actionable insights for audiences at all levels.
  • You excel at bridging perspectives across departments while keeping strategic objectives in focus.
  • You are a collaborator and have experience creating project plans with cross-functional team leads while keeping the greater project team in the loop of important updates.
  • You are a documenter and take pride in your aptitude to define and document project requirements, work-flows, and processes with key stakeholders.
  • You are a communicator and form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and build alignment within your teams.
  • You are quick and calculated with change management processes and are able to adapt to modified plans, quickly communicating changes with teams to outline impact and alternate options.
  • You are a continuous learner and lead your work with a growth mindset.
  • You have a solid foundation in project management tools, software, and understand the concepts of design thinking.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of project management experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.

Qualifying work experience, as identified by the Senior Director, Human Resources, may substitute for the education requirement.
