Senior Staff Engineer, DevOps at LearnUpon to lead technical strategy and DevOps architecture for their Learning Management System. Drive DevOps best practices, mentor engineering teams, and shape long-term technical roadmap across a global organization.

Key Responsibilities: Drive DevOps best practices around CI/CD, automation, scalability and reliability; provide technical guidance and mentorship to uplevel the engineering organization; collaborate with product teams to shape technical strategy and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
Skills & Tools: 12+ years of DevOps/SRE experience with expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipeline optimization (GitLab, FluxCD), and DevSecOps practices. Outstanding communication and mentoring abilities with proven track record of leading technical initiatives across multiple teams.
Qualifications: 12+ years of exceptional DevOps/SRE experience with proven technical leadership in large-scale distributed systems and demonstrated success leading technical initiatives spanning multiple teams. Preferred experience includes leading engineering initiatives across multiple locations and contributions to open-source projects.
Location: Hybrid in Dublin, Ireland
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is €90,000 – €130,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

LearnUpon is seeking an exceptional Senior Staff Software Engineer, DevOps to join our Engineering team in Dublin.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you'll be a key technical leader and role model within LearnUpon. You'll shape the DevOps architecture of our best-in-class LMS, influence our technical strategy, and elevate the skills of our entire engineering organization. Your impact will extend beyond our product, contributing to our mission of building robust, lovable learning products that help customers achieve results.

What will I be doing?

  • Drive DevOps best practices around CI/CD, automation, scalability and reliability across LearnUpon's infrastructure and pipelines
  • Drive technical innovation and strategic initiatives across multiple teams and services
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to uplevel the entire engineering organization
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering teams and cross-functional partners to shape our long-term technical roadmap and strategy
  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges that significantly impact LearnUpon's growth and success
  • Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, system design, and operational excellence
  • Mentor and coach engineers across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  • Resolve conflicts and drive alignment between teams, building a cohesive engineering culture

What skills do I need?                                                                               

  • 12+ years of exceptional DevOps/SRE experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership in large-scale, distributed systems
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (preferably AWS), IaC (terraform, ansible) and strong networking and security experience (VPCs, IAM etc.)
  • Strong experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines with a focus on Gitlab, FluxCD, python and Go
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling and knowledge on how to build these in to our CI/CD
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams and services
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Track record of mentoring and elevating the skills of other engineers, including senior-level talent
