Summary

Senior DevOps Engineer providing technical ownership of AWS-based infrastructure for Riverside Insights' assessment platforms. Responsible for building reliable, scalable systems and continuously improving operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Design and operate AWS infrastructure, develop infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, monitor systems and respond to incidents, and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices. Partner with engineering teams to improve automation, observability, security, and cost efficiency.
Skills & Tools: Extensive AWS experience in multi-account and multi-region environments, strong expertise with Terraform and infrastructure as code tools, proficiency with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog, and hands-on CI/CD automation experience. Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills with preferred proficiency in Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or Bash.
Qualifications: Extensive experience operating AWS infrastructure in production environments with demonstrated expertise in infrastructure as code and CI/CD workflows. Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS Image Builder, security integration, and developer productivity tooling.

About the Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will provide key technical ownership within the engineering organization by building, operating, and continuously improving the infrastructure that supports Riverside Insights’ assessment platforms. You will partner closely with engineering and product leaders to ensure systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and highly automated—especially during peak demand periods.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and operate reliable AWS-based infrastructure supporting production services
  • Improve automation, repeatability, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency across the platform
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual operations
  • Monitor systems, respond to incidents, and create runbooks for high-risk operational services
  • Partner with engineering teams to support deployments and improve operational practices
  • Coach and mentor engineers on DevOps principles and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience operating AWS infrastructure in multi-account and multi-region environments
  • Strong expertise with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows and automation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AMI-based image pipelines using AWS Image Builder
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or Bash for automation
  • Experience improving infrastructure security posture and integrating security into pipelines
  • Experience supporting developer productivity and modern engineering tooling

Physical Requirements

  • Remote.
  • Travel 1–2 times a year for off-site team meetings or conferences.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $165,000 aligned with market data and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
