Summary

Remote Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position in Michigan focused on empowering students with learning differences through comprehensive evaluations, direct services, and collaborative care within school settings.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct SLP evaluations and deliver direct services to children, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEPs and treatment plans, monitor student progress, communicate with parents and school staff, and complete documentation including diagnostic reports and progress monitoring.
Skills & Tools: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), school-based SLP experience in Michigan, exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, proficiency with telehealth platforms, and strong understanding of educational eligibility determinations and comprehensive reporting.
Qualifications: Licensed to practice as an SLP in Michigan with prior experience in school settings and familiarity with Michigan-specific SLP practices; experience participating in IEP meetings, case management, and designing interventions for academic and social needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive SLP evaluations and deliver direct services to children in school settings.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with a focus on school-based SLP goals.
  • Continuously monitor student progress, adapting strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, school staff, and students about progress and strategies.
  • Complete essential documentation, including IEP reports, goals, and diagnostic evaluations, with precision and timeliness.
  • Work with teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to discuss student needs, provide guidance, and implement effective interventions.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure every student's success

What You’ll Need 

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and licensure to practice in Michigan.
  • Prior experience working in a school setting and familiarity with Michigan-specific school-based SLP practices.
  • Proven ability to contribute to a team-focused approach, working collaboratively rather than solely pulling students for therapy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and school staff from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • A strong understanding of the scope and impact of school-based speech-language services, including educational eligibility determinations and comprehensive reporting.
  • Experience participating in IEP meetings, case management, and designing interventions to meet students’ academic and social needs.
  • Comfort with technology and proficiency in using telehealth platforms for virtual services.
  • Availability during standard school hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
