THE OPPORTUNITY:

Brisk Teaching is looking for a Senior Account Manager to own and grow our partnership with the New York City Department of Education — the largest school district in the country. This role sits at the intersection of professional learning, customer success, and strategic sales. You will serve as the primary relationship holder for NYCDOE, ensuring educators and administrators experience the full value of Brisk's AI-powered platform while driving adoption, renewal, and expansion.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who understands the complexity of large urban districts, is energized by working directly with educators, and knows how to navigate institutional relationships to drive meaningful change.

YOU WILL:

Strategic Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for NYCDOE district leaders, instructional coaches, and IT stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan that drives adoption, engagement, renewal, and expansion across schools and departments.

  • Build and maintain multi-threaded relationships across central office, borough offices, and school-level contacts.

  • Monitor account health and proactively surface risks, opportunities, and usage insights to internal teams.

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with district partners, presenting data on impact, usage trends, and strategic next steps.

Professional Learning & Implementation

  • Design and facilitate high-quality professional development sessions — both virtual and in-person — for teachers, coaches, and administrators.

  • Partner with Brisk's instructional team to contextualize PD content specifically for NYCDOE's pedagogical priorities and curriculum standards.

  • Develop onboarding journeys for new school cohorts, ensuring strong starts that lead to sustained engagement.

  • Serve as an internal advocate for NYCDOE's instructional context, feeding insights into product and curriculum teams.

  • Create coaching structures that help school-based leads champion Brisk adoption within their communities.

Customer Success & Retention

  • Own renewal and expansion conversations, working closely with leadership to develop compelling proposals rooted in demonstrated impact.

  • Track and communicate outcomes — including teacher time savings, student engagement, and instructional quality improvements — to reinforce ROI.

  • Troubleshoot implementation challenges swiftly and collaboratively, coordinating with support, product, and engineering as needed.

  • Act as a feedback loop between NYCDOE educators and Brisk's product team, championing district-specific needs and use cases.

Sales & Growth

  • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within NYCDOE — new schools, departments, grade bands, and product lines.

  • Collaborate with revenue leadership on contract renewals, upsells, and multi-year agreements.

  • Collaborate and manage any NYCDOE specific consultants to help drive further engagement and revenue.

  • Contribute to Brisk's broader NYC and urban district go-to-market strategy, sharing learnings and best practices.

  • Represent Brisk at NYCDOE events, conferences, and community gatherings to strengthen brand presence and deepen relationships.

YOU HAVE:

  • 5+ years of work experience in account management, customer success, or partnership roles — ideally in edtech, education, or a mission-driven organization.

  • Direct experience working with or within large public school districts, with knowledge of how urban district systems operate.

  • Demonstrated success facilitating professional learning for adult educators, with strong facilitation and communication skills.

  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder accounts and driving renewal and expansion outcomes.

  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.

  • Strong data literacy — able to interpret usage and outcomes data and translate it into compelling narratives for district partners.

BONUS:

  • Prior classroom teaching experience or deep instructional background.

  • Familiarity with NYCDOE's organizational structure, procurement processes, and policy landscape.

  • Experience with AI-powered tools for education, or an eagerness to become a fluent, credible voice on instructional AI.

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.
