The AI & Data Platform team builds the foundation that powers all data and machine learning at Quizlet. Our focus is on creating scalable, reliable, and efficient systems that enable teams across the company to develop and deploy high-impact, AI-driven products.

About the Role:
We’re hiring Data Platform Engineers across multiple levels (Staff - Principal Engineer), with leveling determined through the interview process.
In this role, you’ll design and build the infrastructure that supports large-scale data processing and machine learning workflows. You’ll partner closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Product teams to deliver systems that are reliable, scalable, and easy to use.
Success in this role is measured by platform reliability, developer experience, and adoption across teams.
We’re happy to share that this is an onsite position in either our Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, or NYC. To help foster team collaboration, we require that employees be in the office a minimum of three days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and as needed by your manager or the company. We believe that this working environment facilitates increased work efficiency, team partnership, and supports growth as an employee and organization.
In this role, you will::
Build and maintain data and ML infrastructure to support model training, deployment, and monitoring
Design scalable data pipelines and systems (batch and real-time)
Improve platform usability, tooling, and developer efficiency
Drive reliability, observability, and automation across the platform
Partner cross-functionally to define and deliver data solutions
Contribute to technical design, code quality, and best practices
What you bring to the table::
Experience building and operating data or ML platforms in production
Strong background in distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, GCP, Kubernetes, or similar
Track record of improving system reliability and efficiency
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $205,000 - $316,000 depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
