Shine Early Learning is seeking a mission-driven Deputy Director to lead cross-functional family and health teams and strengthen implementation of our two-generation approach to early learning. Your leadership will help shape high-quality programs that support school readiness and family well-being.
Your Role:
As Deputy Director, you will provide visionary, hands-on leadership to interdisciplinary family engagement and health teams, ensuring Shine Early Learning's research-based approach is executed with excellence. You will drive strategy, coach leaders, and foster innovation to improve child and family outcomes. Your work will support partners in achieving full enrollment, implementing high-quality services, and aligning with Head Start standards and Shine’s integrated model.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead family engagement and health teams across Shine’s partner sites to execute high-impact, two-generation strategies
- Use data to drive continuous quality improvement and monitor execution across family services and health programs
- Oversee recruitment, enrollment, health access, and compliance to ensure all children are connected to high-quality services
- Develop and coach leaders using Shine’s competency-based rubrics and reflective supervision approach
- Build external partnerships, support community engagement, and establish center-level family leadership structures
- Design and implement systems to support health screenings, family outreach, and home-to-classroom curriculum alignment
- Ensure all services meet or exceed Head Start Performance Standards
- Represent Shine Early Learning in national networks and strategic partnerships
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Development, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience managing programs and supervising educational or family engagement teams
- Proven success in program and operational leadership, including continuous improvement and fiscal oversight
- Experience working with Head Start or similar early childhood programs
- A track record of building high-functioning, mission-aligned teams and leading through influence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort presenting to internal and external stakeholders
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
