Summary

VP of Content Strategy and Curriculum at Pluralsight leads the vision for technical education by setting content roadmap and overseeing creation of 3000+ pieces of annual content across tech domains. This strategic senior leader directs a team of 20+ content professionals while evangelizing Pluralsight's content offering and modernizing on-demand learning.

Key Responsibilities: Set and execute content roadmap for curriculum teams and author network, strategically manage content creation and maintenance budget, and design innovative content styles. Direct a team of 20+ content professionals including managers/directors, with accountability for team outcomes and development of senior leadership talent.
Skills & Tools: Technical subject matter expertise in at least one technology domain with conversational literacy across all, strong data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire teams, present at executive/conference level, and translate business objectives into team key results.
Qualifications: Minimum 15 years of related experience with 10 years in a senior people leadership capacity and a bachelor's degree. Proven track record in technical education (on-demand eLearning), data-driven content strategy execution, and building/directing geographically distributed teams.

Job Description:

The VP, Content Strategy and Curriculum is a strategic, senior leader who cares deeply about technology education and possesses a proven ability to direct content creation across a broad range of technical domains. This role is responsible for setting Pluralsight’s topical content strategy, determining which technologies/topics are covered, to what extent, on what time horizons. Core to this role is an innovative outlook on how technical content creation is evolving and what steps need to be taken to modernize on-demand learning. In this role, the VP will be evangelizing Pluralisight’s content story and leading to the future of Pluralsight’s content offering. This role reports to the SVP, Content.

What you’ll do:

  • Set and execute the content roadmap that informs the work of our curriculum teams, and in turn, the entirety of our author network, with annual publication to exceed 3000 pieces of content
  • Strategically own the content creation and maintenance budget
  • Design and implement new, innovative content styles intended to create repeated, progressive learner engagement
  • Direction of a team of 20+ content professionals which includes direct management of a team of directors/managers. This will necessitate:
  • Leading with inspiration and the ability to communicate a vision that motivates others to create
  • Owning the outcomes of your team and the work they produce
  • Nurturing and coaching the next level of senior leadership
  • Attracting, hiring, and retaining A-level talent

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience as a leader of leaders
  • Technical subject matter expertise in at least one domain of technology and conversational literacy across all
  • Experience successfully setting and executing data-driven content strategies
  • Lengthy track record in technical education, specifically on-demand eLearning
  • Experience building and directing geographically distributed teams comprised of differing roles and skill sets
  • Presentation experience at the executive or conference-level

Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of related or equivalent experience, 10 years with bachelors degree
  • Requires having been a people leader in a senior leader capacity

The annual US base salary range for this role is $198,100 - $247,600 USD. Pluralsight's pay ranges vary based on work location. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process when applicable. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. In addition to the base salary, this role may also be eligible for benefits and bonuses.
