Job Description:
The Pricing Analyst will synthesize data from different departments within WorldStrides to monitor, manage, and make pricing recommendations for our products. As a pricing analyst you will be expected to understand the current pricing models, identify opportunities, and test pricing hypotheses to develop data driven pricing recommendations. This position works cross functionally to consider delivery costs, the competition’s strategy, consumer trends, product quality and marketing. The pricing analyst will also contribute to the Product Roadmap and provide advice on product launch timing.
Responsibilites:
- Examine and interpret monthly price moves from competitors, and analyze volume trends in the company as they compare to the industry
- Develop price points for new product launches to improve profit margin and sales volumes
- Ensure pricing accuracy in various marketplaces and systems and align them with strategic goals
- Synthesize external trends with internal data, including cost of services, prices of products currently on the market, discount structures, current financial status and budget
- Support the evolution of customer-facing rewards and seasonal promotion programs
- Deliver informed decisions about the appropriate price points for various products based on the analysis of internal and external data
- Communicate pricing decisions verbally and in written form to the Product, marketing sales, and delivery teams
- Monitor the results of pricing decisions by evaluating performance in relation to budget and profit margins and communicating with the sales team regularly
- Revise pricing decisions if necessary, and proactively monitor products’ performance to determine whether reevaluation is needed
- Maintain detailed records for individual products that can be used to evaluate future market trends and inform future pricing decisions
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders to understand pricing research needs required to support the annual financial plan.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with statistical analysis of multivariate testing. methodologies, UX/UI principles, and agile project management practices.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable product
- Research with competitors like EF, ACIS, Nations and Grand Classroom
- Understanding and keeping a pulse on geographic market changes including travel costs, consumer travel patterns and share of wallet
- Working with sales to define an incentive plan that supports the sales cycle and new product releases
- Managing the analysis and recommendation for the quarterly international price increases
- Managing the recommendations for semi annual domestic price point changes
Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years+ years of experience working in an analytical or product role
- Experience performing exploratory analysis with minimal direction to answer ambiguous open-ended questions
- Experimentation experience to design multivariate tests, synthesize test results and build frameworks to make data-informed launch decisions
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g. Excel, SQL, Business Objects)
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, math/statistics, finance, or related field
- Effective communication skills
- Strong project-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
