Summary

Senior Art Director at Benchmark Education Company leading the conception, design, and execution of print and digital programs, products, and marketing assets for an educational publishing company. This role oversees creative teams and manages multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: Concept and design educational programs, products, and marketing materials while leading design teams in their creation. Coordinate with internal departments (editorial, marketing, photo, video, production) and manage external vendors including illustrators, photographers, and agencies.
Skills & Tools: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office with strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent management skills, confidence in dynamic creative environments, and ability to quickly prioritize multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of experience in the educational publishing industry. Advanced design expertise and demonstrated leadership in managing creative teams and complex projects.
Location: New Rochelle, New York, United States (hybrid: minimum 3 days per week on-site)
Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000/year

Job Description

*This position is in our New Rochelle office at least 3x a week.

Position Purpose:

Benchmark Education Company is seeking a Senior Art Director to join our Creative team. The Senior Art Director is responsible for concepting, designing, and leading design teams on print and digital programs, products, and marketing assets across Benchmark Education Company’s output.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Concept and Design programs, products, and marketing materials for Benchmark Education Company. 
  • Lead design teams in the creation of new programs and products. 
  • Coordinate with internal departmental leads including, but not limited to editorial, marketing, photo, video, and production as needed.
  • Work with illustrators, photographers, agencies, and other vendors as directed.
  • This position requires the Senior Art Director to be familiar with and adhere to all corporate best practices, guidelines, and schedules as set forth by the Creative Director. 

Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Educational Publishing industry.
  • Expert Knowledge of all aspects of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and confidence working on multiple projects with tight deadlines. The individual must possess strong management skills and be comfortable in a dynamic creative environment. 
  • This position requires that the individual be able to quickly switch back and forth between multiple assignments at any given time.

 Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

*The base salary range represents the low and high end of the expected salary range for the position. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
