Summary
Nelnet seeks an IT Software Engineer to develop cross-functional enterprise software solutions while collaborating with IT teams in a hybrid work environment. The role emphasizes translating business requirements into technical implementations with a focus on post-implementation support and technology innovation.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in solution design, analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications, and create design documents. Provide post-implementation support including application performance monitoring, code debugging, and staying current with technology advancements.
Skills & Tools: Strong relational database knowledge, understanding of application integration best practices, full software development lifecycle knowledge with agile exposure preferred, and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Working knowledge of network and server infrastructure required to host applications.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of 3 years of software development experience. Preferred knowledge of Agile methodologies and strong skills in at least one key competency area.
Location: Hybrid in Madison, Wisconsin, United States (24 hours per week in-office required for local associates within 30 miles)
Compensation: $90,000 – $130,000/year
