Skills & Tools: Proficiency in instructional design, fluency in Spanish, strong collaboration abilities, and knowledge of ELA and ELD standards. Understanding of best practices in Spanish literacy, dual language programs, and content development is essential.
Qualifications: Background in education with experience in dual language programs or content development/publishing preferred. Familiarity with research-based pedagogical approaches to Spanish literacy and cross-linguistic transfer is valued.

Position Purpose:

The Instructional Design and Training Specialist works directly with the Publisher and Spanish Executive Editor to define and implement research-based pedagogical approached related to Spanish literacy, Dual Language, and Cross Linguistic Transfer decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the instructional design of new Spanish and dual products, providing a professional developer/practitioner perspective on content to help ensure best practices.
  • Collaborate with content developers, authors, and consultants to conceptualize new products and develop program matrices and scope and sequences based on ELA, ELD and content standards.
  • Attend Content Development working meetings to support the conceptualization and prototyping of all new components.
  • Develop scope and sequences, working with content developers and outside consultants as needed.
  • Create new product prototypes and provide feedback on prototypes developed by others,.
  • Participate in district and state submissions by writing and/or reviewing RFP responses to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness of responses.
  • Participate in product launch meetings, scrums, and RFP weekly meetings.
  • Work with the Director, Instructional Design and Training, to create product training scripts for Spanish core and supplemental products.
