Key Responsibilities: Develop original and revise existing nursing education content including assessment items, tutorials, and simulations while conducting literature searches and database reviews. Participate in expert review meetings, respond to client inquiries, assist with contributor training, and conduct quality assurance testing on products prior to release.
Skills & Tools: Strong writing, presentation, organizational, and communication skills with proficiency in educational content development, test blueprints, NCSBN knowledge, and prelicensure nursing curricula. Ability to balance multiple projects, work cross-functionally, and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) and current RN license required, with five years of full-time faculty experience in prelicensure nursing programs and three years of clinical practice in community health nursing. Expertise in teaching prelicensure community health nursing and ability to create generalist-level nursing content.
Location: Hybrid/Remote within the United States with occasional travel required; based in Leawood, Kansas

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Nursing Education Specialist, you will combine your expertise as a prelicensure nursing faculty member and clinical nursing skills in maternal newborn and pediatrics to develop content solutions that meet real world needs. The Nursing Education Specialist uses a variety of resources, including database searches and literature reviews, to author original content and update existing content. This individual must have strong writing skills, proficiency with test blueprints and the NCSBN®, and an understanding of prelicensure nursing curricula. This position exists to provide accurate, evidence-based content across products and provide input on product development.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position offers flexibility of remote work within the United States. Occasional travel will be required.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Create original and/or update existing nursing content that reflects current practice. Content includes assessment items, tutorials, simulations, and/or other products as defined.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills while working with cross-functional teams.
  • Balance multiple projects and tasks while meeting ongoing and overlapping deadlines.
  • Participate in item review meetings with internal or external subject matter experts.
  • Respond appropriately to internal and external client inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with training and coordinating internal and external contributors on projects.
  • Conduct beta testing and quality assurance checks on products prior to release.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • MSN and current RN license required.
  • Five years of experience as a full-time faculty member in a prelicensure nursing program (responsible for teaching both theory and clinical).
  • Three years of clinical nursing practice experience in community health nursing.
  • Expertise teaching prelicensure community health nursing, as well as the ability to create generalist-level content across the nursing curricula.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practice and trends in prelicensure nursing education.
  • Knowledge of and ability to align products with the NCLEX-PN® and NCLEX-RN® detailed test plans.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to conduct literature searches using a variety of research databases and search engines.
  • Ability to analyze research articles and other resources to create professional-level, original content.
  • Ability to write multiple choice, alternate format, and Next Generation NCLEX® style items following an assessment blueprint.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet.
