Summary

Sr. Manager of Revenue Accounting at InStride responsible for managing complex revenue accounting processes and leading technology transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. This role reports directly to the Controller and focuses on scaling revenue and billing functions while driving automation.

Key Responsibilities: Manage complex revenue accounting processes, transactions, and reconciliations during month-end close cycles; lead revenue technology transformation initiatives and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy; identify and resolve complex accounting issues ensuring ASC 606 and SOX compliance; develop revenue note disclosures for audited financial statements.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in ASC 606 and US GAAP revenue recognition; advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite) and revenue automation tools (RevPro, Zuora); strong analytical and problem-solving skills; mastery of Microsoft Excel and Google Drive; exceptional written and verbal communication with ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Qualifications: 7+ years of revenue accounting experience with Big 4 and high-growth SaaS or tech industry background; 3-5 years of people management experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and foster high-performance teams; hands-on experience implementing revenue systems and driving automation and process improvement initiatives.

In this role, you’ll collaborate across teams to implement process improvements and revenue technology transformation initiatives that enhance financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll play a critical role in building scalable financial systems within a fast-paced, growing company.

  • Revenue Accounting Expertise: Deep understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP revenue recognition principles, with experience applying them in a high-growth, evolving business environment.
  • Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, along with experience implementing and optimizing revenue automation tools (e.g., RevPro, Zuora, or similar platforms) to drive efficiency.
  • Process Improvement & Scaling: Proven ability to assess, design, and enhance revenue and billing processes to improve accuracy, automation, and scalability in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex revenue arrangements, identify discrepancies, and develop solutions that enhance financial reporting and compliance.

  • Support tax apportionment calculations for partnership tax returns.
  • Oversee and maintain financial systems, including NetSuite, Avalara, Paystand, and Chargebee.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Provide strategic insights through ad hoc analyses to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support international expansion, system implementations, and data quality improvements.
  • Manage external consultants as required.
