Summary

Bilingual Clinical Support Specialist role at Hazel Health supporting telemedicine visits in virtual school-based healthcare. You'll be the first point of contact for families, providing patient assistance, technology support, and clinical coordination across the organization's largest virtual school healthcare network.

We are looking for dynamic, empathetic, and action-oriented individuals to join our exciting Clinical Operations team. 

As a Clinical Support Specialist (CSS), your primary responsibility will be to support Hazel Health providers before, during, and after telemedicine visits through patient assistance, technology support, and follow-up communication. Our CSSs are often the first point of contact for our families and must be compassionate, organized, and able to make sound decisions. Please note that our Clinical Support Specialists must be bilingual Spanish speakers.

Location: Remote

What You’ll Do:

  • Support Hazel’s Physical Health provider team with phone calls to families in both English and Spanish
  • Manage internal chat communications among providers, relay messages to appropriate staff, and create job tickets for school/initiator needs
  • Provide interpretation and translation services for phone calls, telehealth visits and written medical documentation
  • Answers parent/guardian questions and relay pertinent information back to the provider 
  • Troubleshoot minor technical difficulties and escalate to Hazel’s IT team, when needed
  • Work with the Clinical Operations team to identify process improvements and document new procedures
  • Ensure continuity of care by acting as a liaison between Hazel providers, parents/guardians, students and school personnel
  • Provide back-up coverage to other support staff

What Excites Us:

  • Required: Once hired, you will be enrolled --at Hazel Health's expense--in an accredited medical interpreter training program (e.g., ALTA). You must successfully complete the certification within your first 30 days of employment as a condition of continued employment. 
  • Required: Fluency or ability to communicate in Spanish. 
  • Prior experience in a clinical environment (1-2 years) preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set appropriate priorities
  • Ability to work autonomously with efficiency and attention to detail
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
