Summary

IXL Learning seeks a motivated Recruiting Specialist to join their team and support the early stages of their hiring process by reviewing applications and identifying top talent. This junior-level role works alongside recruiters and hiring managers in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment.

Key Responsibilities: Review inbound job applications and evaluate candidate qualifications against defined criteria, participate in kickoff meetings to align on ideal candidate profiles, conduct initial phone screens to assess skills and culture fit, and maintain accurate records in Greenhouse ATS. Collaborate with recruiting team members to understand business needs and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
Skills & Tools: Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with Greenhouse ATS and Google Suite. Experience with resume screening, candidate assessment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 1-2 years of relevant recruiting experience. Experience with screening candidate resumes, assessing qualifications, conducting phone screens, and passion for education and technology are essential.
Location: San Mateo, California (hybrid: Monday-Friday in office with option to work from home one day per week)
Compensation: $71,000 – $80,000/year

Job Description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a motivated Recruiting Specialist to join our team. In this junior level role, you will focus on the vital early stages of our hiring process. Working alongside recruiters and hiring managers, you’ll learn the details of our hiring needs and will serve as a primary reviewer for incoming job applications. #LI-EM1

Our ideal candidate is organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills. With a solid working knowledge of recruiting, you understand how to move candidates through various stages and are comfortable navigating the fast-paced nature of high-volume application review. You have a keen eye for spotting potential and can quickly identify top talent even when managing a large and diverse pipeline of applicants.

This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office. The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday in the office with the option to work from home one day per week.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Review inbound applications and evaluate qualifications against defined criteria to help identify top candidates
  • Participate in kickoff meetings with recruiters and hiring managers to align on ideal profiles and screening criteria
  • Periodically assist with initial candidate phone screens to assess candidate skills, experience and culture fit
  • Collaborate with recruiting team members and hiring managers to understand evolving business needs and continue to calibrate on candidate profiles
  • Provide a seamless and efficient candidate experience that results in a positive impression of IXL Learning, regardless of the outcome
  • Maintain accurate records in Greenhouse ATS

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-2 years of relevant recruiting experience
  • Experience with screening candidate resumes and assessing skills and qualifications
  • Experience in conducting qualifying phone screens is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with Greenhouse or other ATS, Google Suite
  • Passionate about education and technology

The base salary range for this full-time position is $71,000 to $80,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
