Nelnet Renewable Energy is a multi-faceted player in the Solar industry participating in tax equity investments, tax equity syndication, engineering, procuring and construction of solar fields, greentech investment, and sustainable venture offerings. Each revenue stream has unique accounting characteristics and considerations.

This position will aid in reporting across all revenue streams to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Responsibilities include oversight over tax equity investment and tax equity syndication accounting, month end and quarter end closings for Nelnet Renewable Energy, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Review of tax equity investment accounting and syndication accounting for external stakeholders.

2.   Maintenance of accounting systems including customers, suppliers, ledger and account hierarchies. 

3.   Accounting liaison for co-investors participating in tax equity syndication. 

4.   Correspond with internal accounting team with entity structure, cash movements, and book/tax accounting for all revenue streams of Nelnet Renewable Energy. 

5.   Maintain ownership of general ledger, tax basis, and capital account tracking schedules for tax equity investments.

6.   Assist with month end and quarter end reporting, annual plan budgeting, and quarterly forecast for Nelnet Renewable Energy. 

7. Peer review appropriate monthly, quarterly, and annual HLBV accounting workbooks. 

**Pay Range for this position is - $60,000 - $70,000

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree required in Accounting or Business Administration. Certified Public Accountant (CPA)-Preferred

EXPERIENCE

3+ years of relevant financial reporting and tax compliance and return preparation experience in a public accounting firm. Expertise in partnership taxation and/or renewable energy tax credit investment experience is preferred.
