In this critical role, you’ll ensure regulatory compliance, drive safety initiatives, and foster a safety-first culture across the team. Key Responsibilities Lead all local safety and compliance activities in line with federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee driver hiring and onboarding compliance (drug testing, MVR checks, DOT physicals, etc.). Manage delivery of training programs and ensure trainers meet company standards. Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions using root cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why’s). Monitor telematics data and safety dashboards to guide coaching and performance improvement. Coordinate and lead safety meetings, audits, and employee safety programs. Maintain and audit safety documentation in internal systems (e.g., DMO). Collaborate with operations to identify and address safety hazards. Support cost-effective safety planning and help manage training-related budgets. Drive continuous improvement and safety engagement through BeSafe leadership activities. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant safety experience OR a college degree with related experience. OSHA 10-Hour training and additional safety certifications preferred. Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and other safety regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to analyze data and execute strategic safety plans. Valid driver’s license required.
