Summary

Senior Manager of Student and University Outreach responsible for driving CodePath's enrollment growth and market penetration across California by developing relationships with higher education institutions, community organizations, and corporate partners. This role focuses on expanding CodePath's reach from 2% to 15%+ market penetration among California's 34,500 computer science students.

Key Responsibilities: Lead student enrollment initiatives, organize marketing campaigns and info sessions at target universities, recruit and manage Tech Fellows for on-campus activities, and build relationships with university faculty, corporate partners, and community organizations. Set enrollment targets, track progress, manage digital and in-person student outreach, and facilitate logistics for program execution across California.
Skills & Tools: Experience executing targeted marketing campaigns for computer science students, proven partnership-building abilities, strong communication and event management skills, and ability to develop student-focused ecosystems involving students, corporations, faculty, and community organizations. Self-starter with passion for growth and direct student/campus engagement.
Qualifications: Familiarity with California's higher education market and experience in student recruitment required; self-starter mentality and demonstrated track record in growth-focused enrollment roles preferred. Must reside in the Los Angeles area for in-person campus events and local ambassador activities.
Location: Remote from California, United States with Los Angeles area residence requirement for in-person events as needed

About the Role

Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000 per year

In recent years, California and Los Angeles in particular has emerged as a key region for CodePath, with over 34,500 computer science students and more than 100 higher education institutions in the greater LA area. CodePath has captured 2% market penetration, with 554 students enrolled in 2024, and is seeing rapid growth in the region, particularly at UC Irvine, various California State Universities, and UC schools. As a major tech hub, LA is home to global giants such as Snapchat, Tinder, Google, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, YouTube, Buzzfeed, and Salesforce, offering key partnership opportunities. 

To accomplish this, CodePath is hiring a Senior Manager, Student and University Outreach for California to supercharge our student enrollment growth trajectory and lay the foundations of a regional flywheel. By developing champions at higher education institutions, leading organic growth through student channels, and executing marketing playbooks, the Senior Manager Student and University Outreach will lead CodePath’s student enrollment growth and market penetration in California. 

We are looking for someone who is skillful in building student focused ecosystems that comprise of students, corporations, faculty and local community organizations to drive student enrollment. To be successful in this role you’ll need to be someone who is energized by going onto campus to talk directly to students and faculty, who enjoys designing and executing student facing events and marketing campaigns to build brand awareness and loyalty, and takes great pride in the impact of their work. 

Key Activities 

Market Penetration & Growth

  • Grow awareness of CodePath's programs and brand among all California CS students to drive regional enrollment growth
  • Deepen CodePath's brand and program awareness at key universities to enroll over 15% of the CS student population
  • Organize info sessions and awareness campaigns at target universities with Tech Fellows
  • Manage student recruitment initiatives including digital outreach, on-campus events, and event attendance. Set and track enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate logistics of executing programs 

Community Engagement

  • Recruit, train, and manage Tech Fellows for on-campus marketing activities to foster community and reach enrollment targets  
  • ​​Identify and attend events at conferences or campus visits as a local ambassador for CodePath

Relationship Building

  • Lay the groundwork for deeper partnerships by connecting student and faculty champions; support onboarding of new for-credit university programs
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate and funder partners for regional success
  • Connect with community organizations that can facilitate our expansion in the region
  • Collaborate closely with our for-credit partnerships team to grow higher education relationships toward deeper engagement 

Key Success Metrics

  • 2x the number of California students YoY for the Summer 2025 semester
  • Enroll 24,000 students nationally in 2025 with at least 40% BLI and 60% underserved
  • Grow at least 7 new schools to over 10% penetration focused in priority expansion regions and building a repeatable marketing playbook for sustainable growth  
  • Drive 14x student enrollment growth in California by 2028
  • Develop at least 1 champion from various levels of University systems (Provost/Dean, CS Chair, Faculty, Staff, Student organizations etc.) at all 68 target higher education institutions

Qualifications

  • Self-starter with a drive for results and passion for growth. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Experience executing targeted campaigns that effectively engage CS student populations through both digital and traditional channels to maximize reach and engagement
  • Track record of fostering partnerships with local organizations and community groups to enhance visibility and drive student recruitment
  • Proven ability to cultivate long-term partnerships with university stakeholders to advocate for CodePath’s initiatives
  • Track record of scaling programs in a higher education environment
  • Knowledge of the higher education market in California
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Experience managing Partner Relationships
  • Experience with Hubspot or related marketing automation tools
  • Passion for equity, education, and social impact
  • This is a remote position; however, residing in the Los Angeles Area is required, as the role involves regular visits to local universities and engagement with students in the area

  • Experience working in a B2C/B2B dual-sided marketplace start up

Compensation

CodePath has standardized salaries based on the position’s level, no matter where you live. For this role, we’re hiring for a Senior Manager level position at an annual salary of $110,000 to $150,000. Salary is determined based on your relevant experience and skills as evaluated through our interview process.
