Summary

The Field Payroll & Onboarding Coordinator supports The Princeton Review's Tutor.com operations by managing payroll processing for part-time Campus Ambassadors across the U.S. and Canada and coordinating the onboarding of new test prep staff. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant payroll operations and smooth employee onboarding across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary payroll contact for Campus Ambassadors, processing timesheets, auditing payroll data, and resolving payroll issues while maintaining employee files in payroll systems. Manage the onboarding process for new test prep hires by distributing paperwork, entering data into company systems, monitoring compliance training, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure smooth integration.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) with preferred knowledge of UKG Pro HMS, Time Classic, and CST systems; excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally. Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years of relevant experience in HR or Payroll. Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication, organizational excellence, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Location: United States and Canada
Compensation: $20.00 – $23.00/hour (as stated by employer, approximately $41,600 – $47,840/year based on 40-hour work week). Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, 401(k) with company match, and life and disability insurance.

Summary of Position:                       

The Field Payroll and Onboarding Coordinator will assist with the onboarding process for our test prep staff new hires and serve as the payroll contact for part-time Campus Ambassadors in the U.S. and Canada. The position will include ensuring appropriate employee file set up within payroll-related systems and preparing Campus Ambassador payroll data for processing. This position is part of a dedicated payroll and onboarding team that supports the various Test Prep operations and marketing field departments in the U.S. and Canada.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as payroll contact person for Campus Ambassadors, providing payroll information and helping to resolve issues in a timely, professional manner
  • Assist field payroll team with part-time employee timesheet processing and approval for Campus Ambassadors
  • Assist field payroll team in reviewing timesheet entries for Campus Ambassadors each pay period to ensure correct pay, accurate data, and policy compliance
  • Maintain and audit employee file data in CST and UKG for all Campus Ambassadors using the established Field Payroll SOPs
  • Assist with ensuring assigned employees are current with required “compliance training” modules (i.e. anti-harassment & discrimination, cybersecurity, etc.)
  • Distribute and process all new hire paperwork for onboarding part-time test prep staff
  • Accurately enter new hire data into various company systems
  • Monitor candidate progress through all required onboarding steps and assist with general questions and basic troubleshooting
  • Understand and implement key differences in onboarding and payroll information for distinct jurisdictions (country, state, locality) based on laws, restrictions and/or requirements
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality in all matters
  • Effectively interact with full-time staff from multiple departments to ensure efficient and professional onboarding of new test prep staff
  • Maintain Onboarding SOP, updating as process changes are communicated
  • Create & maintain Campus Ambassador job postings in UKG Recruiting to ensure accurate and consistent data from the start of the employee life cycle 
  • Perform other duties, including data entry and data review, as assigned

Education, Background, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or 1-2 years relevant experience in HR or Payroll
  • Strong and courteous written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with employees and candidates of all levels
  • Superior organization skills and attention to detail
  • A team player with an affable demeanor who projects professionalism and competence
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment with the need to prioritize multiple deadlines
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately and with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams is preferred
  • Knowledge of UKG Pro HMS and Time Classic preferred
  • Knowledge of CST preferred

Compensation: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour, based on a 40 hour work week.
