Summary

Fulfillment Specialist I responsible for order fulfillment activities at Learning Resources' Distribution Center in Vernon Hills, including picking, packing, and shipping customer orders using voice-to-pick and RF scanning technology.

Key Responsibilities: Pick and pack customer orders accurately by location, product code, lot number, and quantity; place items on conveyor lines; report discrepancies and damages; replenish inventory locations; maintain facility cleanliness to GMP standards; and assist with quality control as needed.
Skills & Tools: Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); ability to interpret and follow detailed instructions; basic math proficiency; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; teamwork and collaboration; organizational skills and time management; familiarity with warehouse technology (voice-to-pick, RF scanners) preferred; Spanish bilingual skills a plus.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; ability to obtain forklift certification (Stock Picker, Reach Truck, Pallet Rider) within 90 days of employment; flexible availability including weekends and extended hours when needed.

Compensation: $19.50 – $21.00/hour (as stated by employer), with potential variation based on experience and skill set. Additional benefits include profit sharing bonus potential, 401(k) matching, and comprehensive benefits package.

Position Description:

Responsible for order fulfillment activities at our Distribution Center in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This includes, but is not limited to, customer order picking, packing, and shipping activities, and daily assignments to support these activities.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Work within an assigned Zone using Voice to Pick, and RF scanners, accurately pick customer orders according to location, product code, lot number, and quantity requested.
  • Place the picked items in a box on the conveyor line and continue to the next order once the pick for the current order is completed. Report any discrepancies and/or damages to the Lead or Supervisor.    
  • May need to check picked orders for accuracy of lot numbers, quantities, and Manifest / Pack List completion.
  • Replenish locations with finished product as requested (reverse pick).
  • Observe all safety guidelines; Inform Supervisor of any safety hazards; Attend all required safety training classes.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all Company policies and procedures. 
  • Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper housekeeping in the facility to meet and exceed GMP requirements. 
  • Responsible for additional projects and duties as assigned by Picking Lead.
  • Report any discrepancies and/or damages to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Working with the QCs as a back up.

Requirements/Preferences:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written (read, write) clearly in English. Bi-Lingual (Spanish) a plus but not required.
  • Flexible to work weekends and extended periods of time when needed.
  • Be able to obtain certification (if required) for operating forklift equipment (Stock Picker, Reach Truck, Pallet Rider) within 90 days of starting.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to perform basic math.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team member.
