Join Nelnet as a Collections Recovery Specialist II, where you'll contribute to the collection of delinquent student loans. This remote position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to help borrowers establish payment arrangements.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include contacting borrowers to establish payment arrangements, performing collection activities, and updating borrower account information.

Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of customer service or collections experience.
Location: This is a fully remote position, but candidates must reside within a 60 mile radius of Lincoln, NE, Brownsville, TX, or Atlanta, GA.
Compensation: $14 - $14 / Hourly

Collect delinquent student loans to protect assets. Manual outbound collection attempts are initiated via auto-dialer. Initiate a small percentage of incoming calls.
Pay rate of $14.00 per hour. In addition, there is a monthly commission plan of up to $1,250 per month.
To be eligible for this role you must reside within a 60 mile radius of Lincoln, NE, Brownsville, TX, and Atlanta, GA
Responsibilities
- Commit to Performance Based Organization (PBO) & Easy To Do Business With (ETDBW) philosophy
- Contribute to Continuous Process Improvement
- Contact borrowers via telephone, mail, and email to establish payment arrangements to rectify outstanding delinquencies on accounts
- Determine the most appropriate plan of action to resolve past due accounts. Strong negotiation will be used to establish borrower payment plans
- Provide pertinent account information and history information in order to educate the borrowers as to the seriousness of the issue at hand
- Update demographic and other additional information on borrower accounts via the servicing system
- Perform additional collection activities related to collections documents and reports
EDUCATION:
High school degree or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
2 year customer service, collection and general work experience preferred.
