Summary

Vice President of People responsible for building a world-class team and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture at a fast-growing edtech AI company with 4M+ teachers. This executive role reports directly to leadership and shapes the company's future through strategic people operations and talent acquisition.

Key Responsibilities: Lead talent acquisition to hire 5-10 top performers monthly, develop strategic hiring plans, and implement best-in-class recruiting processes. Drive high-performance culture with continuous feedback, establish scalable HR systems for compensation and performance management, recruit and develop a People Operations team, and ensure legal compliance.
Skills & Tools: Ownership and execution with ability to deliver results quickly; strategic thinking with strong prioritization in dynamic environments; excellent communication to align executives, managers, and employees. Experience building high-performing teams, designing compensation and leveling frameworks, and achieving strong employee engagement metrics.
Qualifications: Proven experience in senior HR leadership or People operations roles at growth-stage technology companies; demonstrated success building recruiting functions and scaling HR systems from early to mid-stage. Background in talent acquisition, culture building, and executive team collaboration required.

Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $180,000 – $250,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President, People to build a world-class team and foster a high-performance, values-driven culture. This leader will ensure every role is filled with a happy high-performer while scaling HR systems and processes to support our growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Hire 5–10 top-tier employees per month, develop a strategic hiring plan, and implement best-in-class recruiting processes.
  • Culture & Engagement: Drive a high-performance culture with continuous feedback and achieve a 90th percentile Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS).
  • HR Systems & Compliance: Establish scalable frameworks for leveling, compensation, and performance management while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Recruit and develop a high-performing People Operations team, set ambitious goals, and ensure accountability.
