Summary

Part-time Curriculum Specialist for K-12 ELA in the West territory (Colorado, Arizona, Washington, Nevada) who combines education expertise with sales responsibilities to drive curriculum adoption and customer success.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver presentations across six customer touchpoints including conferences, workshops, pilots, and program activation trainings; provide ongoing support to pilot teachers and customers while maintaining relationships and gathering feedback for internal teams.
Skills & Tools: Expert presentation and public speaking abilities, deep knowledge of K-12 ELA education theory and pedagogy, strong technology proficiency with presentation software and hardware, excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, and demonstrated sales acumen in the education market.
Qualifications: 5+ years K-12 education experience including classroom teaching, BS/BA degree (Master's preferred), expertise in education standards and market trends, bilingual English/Spanish capability preferred, and prior experience selling/servicing in the education sector desirable.
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (West territory covering Colorado, Arizona, Washington, and Nevada; must reside within territory)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $45,000 – $65,000/year based on part-time status, title, seniority level, and Phoenix market rates.

Job Description

Savvas Learning Company is seeking a part-time Curriculum Specialist to support our K-12 ELA curriculum in the West territory covering Colorado, Arizona, Washington and Nevada. The part-time Curriculum Specialist is an:

Education specialist with deep K-12 knowledge in assigned content areas (ELA).
Sales representative for the assigned region(s) with the goal of driving and meeting market revenue targets.
Expert in the delivery of sales and introductory product orientation in-service for print, digital and blended programs who will partner with other specialists and share responsibilities in the assigned region(s).
A self-starter with a passion for K-12 education and the ability to drive educators (at all levels) to make sound decisions regarding learning outcome choices for students and teachers.
Expert on education standards, current education pedagogy, and market trends.
Expert communicator with the skills to relate to all levels of state, regional or district K-12 employees from superintendent, administrator, teacher to para-professional.

This position will be required to attend on-site customer meetings in the assigned territory and candidates must reside within the territory to be considered.

Responsibilities:

Delivering winning presentations for each sales cycle to include the six customer touch points:

exhibits and conferences;
pre-work and issue setting workshops;
meetings and campaigns;
pilots;
sales presentations, and;
program activation.

Provides Pilot Activation Trainings and consistent, on-going communication and support for pilot teachers throughout the pilot process.
Providing customer feedback to sales, product, and marketing teams
Maintaining content level expertise through the Savvas Learning Company certification process and agreed upon materials.
Delivering Program Activation trainings for new and on-going customer accounts.
Having a deep understanding and knowledge of Savvas Learning Company’s print and digital solutions.
Maintaining positive on-going relationships with the customer during the sales cycle and after activation to provide support or re-direction to appropriate Savvas Learning Company teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Providing excellent customer service at all times.

Qualifications:

5+ years of K-12 education experience to include classroom teaching experience.
BS or BA, Master’s degree preferred.
Biliterate in English/Spanish preferred.
Specialty training or advanced certification is preferred.
Expert knowledge of education theory and market trends in K-12 ELA.
Deep knowledge and passion for learning in K-12 education.
Demonstrated ability to deliver winning presentations in large and small groups.
Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is desirable.
Experience in public speaking and creating engaging presentations for teachers, parents, district administrators, superintendents, or adoption committees.
Demonstration of strong abilities with technology skills including abilities to use all presentation software and hardware (PC or Mac, including whiteboard technology and 1:1 devices) to develop and deliver multimedia presentations.

Other Requirements:

Regional travel is possible; requests are sometimes made with short notice.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Monitoring and controlling timekeeping and expenses in accordance with Savvas Learning Company Travel and Entertainment policies.
Collaboration with team members and all departments including sales, services, and operations to escalate and address customer satisfaction issues in order to ensure customer success.
Self-starter. Can at times be responsible for self-directed training and preparedness.
Ability to have pointed conversations with school districts in the area of K-12 ELA.
Understanding sales campaign strategy, market trends and the full continuum of Savvas Learning Company services to better understand the customer and audience.
