Qualifications: Experience with institutional sales models and consultative selling roles, knowledge of higher education publishing trends, and fluency in English. Understanding of university organizational culture and priorities.
Location: Hybrid in Cary, North Carolina or remote from anywhere in the United States; options also available for New York City, NY.
Compensation: $58,960 – $74,000 / annually

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Higher Education Partnership Consultant is responsible for maximizing our HE institutional revenues in the US. A go to person on our institutional routes to market, this position will help us to drive inclusive access, equitable access and all other institutional sales.

This is a high-profile position responsible for extending our institutional profile, promoting and reinforcing our brand. This person will work with our Publisher Representatives, ebook vendors and bookstores to maximize institutional revenue from our digital adoptions.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Maintain contact with all new and existing Institutional customers in territory in order to grow and service Higher Education sales direct to universities.

2. Work with bookstores, publisher reps and ebook vendors to co-ordinate the delivery of adopted digital OUP content in existing IA & EA programs within the assigned territory.

3. Liaise with bookstores and ebook vendors for early identification of new IA & EA programs. Notify reps and use Salesforce data to prioritise key adoptions.

4. Be the single point of contact for bookstores for inside accounts with the aim of ensuring the correct format and title are requested and to identify new institutional sales opportunities.

5. Meet with university management at schools without existing institutional programs to understand their priorities and to identify new business opportunities.

6. Identify and progress dual credit and for-profit opportunities within your defined territory.

7. Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Higher Education institutional sales market to help maintain our competitive advantage and respond well to customer requirements and keep ahead of market trends.

8. Work closely with the marketing team to ensure you have appropriate supporting materials.

9. Present an annual business plan to outline key priorities for the year and how you will reach your revenue target.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrable knowledge of universities learning resource needs
  • Commercial awareness of institutional sales models
  • An excellent understanding of the organizational culture within universities and the issues currently facing the sector
  • Demonstrable experience in a consultative role
  • Demonstrable experience of presenting to groups of all sizes, both face-to-face and via web conferencing and telephone
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of the Higher Education publishing industry, its products, markets and trends
  • Professional spoken and written fluency in English

Position Location:This role can be done in a hybrid environment in Cary, NC or New York City, NY (2 times a week in office). This role can also be done in a remote environment in the United States.

GJC Level: I5 (for internal purposes only)

Salary: $58,960 - $74,000 dependent on skills and experience

This is a 6 month contract position
